Feature Adoption Ceiling Estimator
Estimate the realistic maximum adoption rate for a product feature before you ship. No guesswork - just the constraints that shape real usage.
Track real adoption with Hozon
This estimator gives you a pre-launch ceiling. Hozon measures actual feature adoption after launch - so you can see what really happened.

Feature adoption is never 100%. Even the best features hit a ceiling based on real-world constraints: how users find them, how much effort they require, and whether the problem is urgent enough to solve.
This tool applies weighted multipliers to estimate a realistic adoption ceiling. It considers six factors that consistently limit feature adoption in B2B SaaS products:
- Applicable user base: What percentage of your users does this feature even apply to?
- User frequency: Daily users adopt more than monthly visitors.
- Discoverability: Hidden features don’t get used. Forced/default features do.
- Effort to value: The harder it is to get value, the more users drop off.
- Problem type: Must-have problems get solved. Nice-to-have problems get ignored.
- Behavior change: Asking users to change habits cuts adoption roughly in half.
When to Use This Tool
Use this before shipping a feature to set realistic expectations with stakeholders. It’s better to plan for 15% adoption and be pleasantly surprised than to promise 50% and explain why it didn’t happen.
Limitations
This is an estimate, not a prediction. Real adoption depends on factors this tool can’t measure: your users’ specific context, how well the feature is built, and whether you actively promote it. Use it as a starting point for planning, then measure what actually happens.
